Lemon Chocolate Cupcakes

Today I made these delicious chocolate cupcakes with lemon frosting. They are so good!

Lemon Chocolate Cupcakes

I used this Hershey’s recipe for the chocolate cake and this recipe for the lemon buttercream frosting.

Delicious Chocolate Cake

Ingredients: 2 cups sugar

1 3/4 cups flour

3/4 cup cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

Directions: Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for two minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Line muffin cups and fill 2/3 full with batter. Bake 22-25 minutes. Cool completely.

Lemon Buttercream

Ingredients: 1 cup butter

4 cups powdered sugar

2 Tablespoons lemon zest

3 Tablespoons lemon juice

2 teaspoons cream

Directions: Cream butter and add powdered sugar one cup at a time. Mix in lemon zest and lemon juice. Add cream. Beat until smooth. Have fun frosting your cupcakes!
